Internship Program: Film Screenwriting and Direction

The Mumbai Cinematic Odyssey is a transformative cinema learning immersion program offering students a profound experience within the heart of the Indian film industry. Taking place over one enriching month in Navi Mumbai, this journey delves into the vibrant world of Bollywood. Participants will gain profound insights from industry experts, visit renowned film studios, and embark on the creation of their cinematic projects. The program’s primary focus is to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of filmmaking, the art of storytelling, and the cultural significance of Indian cinema.

The one-month internship program in Film Screenwriting and Direction is thoughtfully designed to equip aspiring filmmakers with essential hands-on experience in the dynamic film industry. Under the expert guidance of Dr. Paramjeet Singh Kattu, a National Film Award-winning filmmaker, students will have the unique opportunity to hone their skills, dive into the intricacies of screenwriting and direction, and gain practical insights into the world of cinema.

Week 1: Getting Acquainted with Cinematic Storytelling

In-class & Online Sessions: The program is composed of online & In-class sessions introducing students to the art of cinematic storytelling. Dr. Paramjeet Singh Kattu will share his wisdom and experience in understanding the intricacies of creating compelling narratives.

Week 2: Script Development and Creative Workshops

Workshops: In the second week, students will actively participate in workshops aimed at enhancing their skills in screenwriting and creative storytelling. They will work on refining their own project ideas.

Week 3: Practical Direction and Field Exposure

On-set Experience: The third week offers students a hands-on experience in the world of film direction. They will visit film sets and shadow professionals, allowing them to see directing principles in practice.

Week 4: Independent Project and Presentation

Project Development: In the final week, students will apply their knowledge and skills by developing an independent cinematic project. They will work on screenplay writing and take on a directorial role.

Project Presentations: The program concludes with students presenting their cinematic projects, providing a platform for sharing their creativity and learning experiences.

Guidelines for the students:

  • Assistance with Office Work: Interns will provide valuable support for various office tasks and projects. They will assist in administrative, pre-production, and post-production activities, contributing to the overall efficiency for Ajuba during the internship period.
  • Collaboration on Ongoing Projects: Student will collaborate and work on specific Ajuba Productions project. Students can bring fresh perspectives and creative ideas to contribute to the successful execution of these endeavors.
  • Intellectual Property Ownership: Each student will work on a project outlined by Ajuba and the intellectual property will belong to Ajuba, with students receiving proper credits.
  • Accommodation: Ajuba is not responsible for the accommodation or any expenses occurred during the program. Students suggested to find their accommodation in Belapur, Navi Mumbai so they will be closer to the office.
